The individual interview is a method of collecting information by a face-to-face contact with only one person. Individual interviews allow to probe the attitudes and to get a deeper understanding of the behaviours of the person interviewed.

The individual or ethnographic interview can be conducted in different ways: in-depth interview, semi–structured interview and structured interview.
